Vol. 115 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bacon Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that bacon supplies have reached the normal requirements of home consumption and will he indicate when it is proposed to make arrangements for the export of bacon.

Bacon supplies are now practically sufficient to meet home requirements. It is expected that there will be an exportable surplus by the early autumn and arrangements for export are being discussed with the British Ministry of Food, in accordance with the terms of the 1948 Trade Agreement.
