Vol. 115 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Servants' Pensions.

asked the Minister for Finance (i) whether the proposed increase in Civil Service pensions will apply to all civil servants whose pensions are based on a cost-of-living figure of less than 270; and (ii) the date from which the increases will be granted.

The intention generally is that the increases will apply to Civil Service pensioners who have received no increase of pension under the Superannuation Act, 1947. The details of the scheme have not, however, been finally worked out. It is intended that increases granted will be effective as from the 1st April, 1949.
