Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Communism in Ireland.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the existence of any communist organisation in the Republic of Ireland; and, if so, whether any measures have been adopted by the Garda authorities to deal with the existence of such organisation.

As far as I am aware there is no organisation in the State which proclaims itself communist or is associated with the Cominform.

There are a few small organisations which appear to have communist tendencies, but their activities are carried on within the law and do not call for action by the police.
