Vol. 117 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mental Hospital Employee's Superannuation.

asked the Minister for Health if in the case of a mental hospital employee who, through ill-health, has been on sick pay for the period of 12 months and then has to resign, his superannuation is calculated on the basis of three full years' salary or on the actual reduced salary for the period.

Superannuation in the case of a mental hospital employee is calculated on the full remuneration attaching to his office or employment even if that remuneration is not, in fact, being received in full by reason of the employee's absence on sick leave prior to retirement.
