Vol. 117 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Mobile X-ray Unit.

asked the Minister for Health (i) whether any steps have yet been taken for the establishment of a mobile X-ray unit for South Kerry, and (ii) if it is intended to make Killarney the centre of the unit.

As the Deputy is aware, a mobile mass radiography unit has been provided by the Cork County Council and is at present operating in County Cork. It is proposed to provide further similar units on a regional basis in the near future. The groupings of the southern counties for the purpose of the scheme have not yet been finally decided. The second part of the question does not, therefore, arise at present.
