Vol. 117 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the names of the localities in which are situate the 1,500 acres the subject of acquisition proceedings by the Land Commission in County Tipperary.

The lands in question are situate in Birdhill, Doonane and Inchirourke.

asked the Minister for Lands if he can now state whether the Land Commission intend to acquire the estate of the late Henry Smith, Finure, Whitegate, Rostellan, County Cork.

No decision has been reached in this case.

Is the Minister aware that that estate, 500 acres of land, has now been purchased by an Englishman?

I am not aware of any such thing. I am aware, however, that where the Land Commission is concerned with proceedings before a sale such sale does not affect their activities after the sale, good, bad or indifferent.

I hope the Minister will remember that.

I will attend to that as I attend to other things.
