Vol. 117 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Harbours.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state when the improvement work on Loughshinny and Rush Harbours will be commenced.

As regards Loughshinny, a modification of certain proposals submitted by the Dublin County Council is still under consideration from the engineering viewpoint following a recent consultation on the site by technical officers of my Department and the Office of Public Works with the local interested persons. Further consideration of the matter must await the receipt of an engineering report regarding the suggested modification. I have every reason to hope that the report will be available to me within the coming two weeks.

An offer upon certain conditions of a State contribution towards the cost of improving Rush Harbour was made to the Dublin County Council on 30th June, 1949, and I have just been informed that that offer has been accepted by the council. The commencement of the work is now a matter for the council.
