Vol. 117 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Clare Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that the people of Aughenish and Finnevarra, North Clare, have at present to travel over five miles for water for all purposes; and, if so, what steps he proposes to have taken in the near future to provide them with an adequate supply of water.

I have no information in regard to the water supply needs of the areas mentioned but am having an inquiry on the matter addressed to the Clare County Council. I shall communicate the results of my inquiries to the Deputy.

May I ask the Minister that, when he is having the inquiry carried out in connection with the water supply needs of that area, he will include in that inquiry the district of Kinvara which is immediately north of the area in question?
