Vol. 117 No. 7

Order of Business.

Nos. 1, 2, 5 and Votes 65 to 73, inclusive, as on the Order Paper, then No. 11, 12, 13, 4 and, in 11, Votes 29 to 3. It is proposed that the House will sit to-day until 12 midnight.

Is it proposed to sit to-morrow?

Yes, 10.30 to 2.

Is the Taoiseach in a position to tell the House exactly what legislative proposals it is intended to ask the House to deal with before the summer recess? Will he say in particular whether it is hoped to ask leave to introduce the proposal for the reorganisation of transport?

I can give a general indication if the House desires it. It is proposed to introduce the following Bills—some of these Bills are on the Order Paper to-day:—Army Pensions Bill, Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Bill, Land Bill, Turf Development Bill, Transport Bill, Local Government Bill, Appropriation Bill, Bill to amend the Exported Livestock Insurance Acts, 1940 and 1943. These Bills will be for First Reading only. It is not intended to try to get them through this session. It is hoped to complete all stages of the Irish News Agency Bill, Fisheries (Amendment) Bill, Appropriation Bill, Housing (Amendment) Bill, Imposition of Duties (Confirmation of Orders) (No. 2) Bill, Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices (Amendment) Bill and Army Pensions Bill. The remaining stages of the Transport Bill will be taken after the summer recess.

It is not proposed to proceed, before the summer recess, with the remaining stages of the following Bills: Transport Bill, Land Bill, Turf Development Bill, Local Government Bill, Bill to amend the Exported Live Stock Insurance Acts, 1940 and 1943, Industrial Development Authority Bill, State Guarantees Bill, Pensions (Increase) Bill, Rent Restrictions (Amendment) Bill.
