Vol. 117 No. 7

Army Pensions Bill, 1949—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend and extend the Army Pensions Acts, 1923 to 1946. —(Minister for Defence.)

When is it proposed to take the Second Stage?

If the House has no objection, I would be very grateful if it could be taken to-morrow.

The Whips approached the representatives of this Party regarding No. 2 but not regarding No. 1. I have no objection to its being ordered for to-morrow but whether it is taken to-morrow should be a matter for consultation, I take it.

I am in the hands of the House.

Would the Minister say when the Bill will be circulated?

I may be misinformed. I was under the impression that it had been circulated but, if it has not been circulated, it will be circulated this afternoon.

Second Stage ordered provisionally for Friday, 15th July.
