Vol. 117 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - I.R.A. Service Medals.

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the reason for the delay in implementing his promise to extend the period of time for applications for I.R.A. service medals and, further, if he is aware that many I.R.A. men are in very poor circumstances and cannot apply under the 1946 Pensions Act until they are awarded service medals.

The Army Pensions Bill, 1949, at present before the House, contains an amendment for extending the time limit, for making application for medals.
