Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing and Reconstruction Grants.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will state (i) the number of applications received from private individuals and public utility societies in County Kerry for (a) grants for new houses; (b) reconstruction grants, since the 31st March, 1948; (ii) in how many cases have grants been paid up to date, distinguishing between (a) and (b); (iii) the total amount of payments made.

Since 31st March, 1948, grants have been allocated to private individuals and public utility societies in County Kerry in respect of 519 new houses and 314 houses to be reconstructed. Grants have been paid in respect of 153 new houses and 108 reconstructed houses. The total amount of payments made in these 261 cases was £27,979.
