Vol. 117 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Tourist Board Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what is the policy of the Land Commission towards the acquisition, for the creation of economic holdings, of lands being offered for sale by the Irish Tourist Board; if he is aware that within the past few months this board sold to a private individual its property of 537 acres at Termonfeckin, County Louth; and, if so, whether he will consider recommending to the Land Commission that it would be desirable in the national interest to have this land made available for the creation of economic holdings for landless men.

It is the policy of the Land Commission to acquire, for the relief of congestion, all suitable lands coming within the statutory provisions. As regards the lands referred to, representations have been received by the Land Commission and have been noted.
