Vol. 118 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Renovation of Fermoy Hospital.

asked the Minister for Health whether he will sanction the loan of £20,000 requested by the Cork County Council for the renovation of the unoccupied wing and ancillary buildings in Fermoy County Hospital.

I presume the Deputy is referring to the application of the local authority for a grant from the Hospitals Trust Fund towards the cost of improvements at Fermoy County Hospital. If that is so, the position is that the application was sent to the Hospitals Commission on 9th September for investigation and report. When I have received and considered their recommendations on the application, my decision will be conveyed to the local authority.
