Vol. 118 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Establishment of Sub-Post Offices.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether it is proposed to establish a sub-post office at Carron, County Clare, in the near future; and, if so, whether, in view of the fact that Carron is in the Breac-Gaeltacht, he will ensure that the appointee to this office has a competent knowledge of Irish.

It is proposed to open a sub-post office at Carron in the near future, but a definite appointment to the sub-office has not yet been made. I am advised that all the candidates for the appointment have a fair knowledge of Irish.

Mr. Murphy

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider establishing a sub-post office at Glenlough, Bantry, County Cork.

I have already approved the establishment of a sub-post office at Glenlough, Bantry, County Cork.
