Vol. 118 No. 8

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper:— Items Nos. 1, 9 and 8. The House will not sit to-morrow.

May I submit that the continued failure to sit on Fridays deprives private members of two hours per week? I should like to ask the Taoiseach if he would be prepared, as the House is not to sit on Fridays, to give Government time for the few hours which are being taken from private members?

I will consider any matter of urgency, but we are consulting the general interests and convenience of Deputies in not sitting on Friday.

There are at least 18 motions on the paper, the majority of which are both urgent and important.

Important, but not urgent.
