Vol. 118 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Poultry-House Grants.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the reason for the delay in paying grants in respect of County Meath for poultry-houses and equipment under the poultry development scheme (hatching egg supply farms and poultry stations).

Grants cannot be paid until the conditions on which they are made have been complied with and the work for which they are offered has been satisfactorily completed. A total of 106 applications for grants have been received from County Meath. In 36 of these cases the applicants are not eligible for grants. Of the remaining 70 cases, grants have been paid in 39 cases, work has not been completed in 20 cases and 11 applications are being examined.
