Vol. 118 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Workmen's Compensation.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he will introduce proposals for legislation to extend to all workmen entitled to receive workmen's compensation in this State, and who, through the operation of Section 34 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934, are disqualified from receiving such compensation on taking up residence in Great Britain, the right to receive such compensation.

I am aware of the residence disqualification contained in Section 32 of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1934, which is, no doubt, what the Deputy has in mind. My Department is at present considering the possibility of having this disqualification modified by means of further reciprocal arrangements with Great Britain.
