Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Petrol.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the total imports of petrol for the last 12 months for which figures are available, indicating the quantity imported from (a) hard currency areas, and (b) sterling areas.

In the 12 months period November, 1948- October, 1949, the total imports of petrol amounted to 65,997,787 gallons, of which roughly 40 per cent were paid for in dollars and 60 per cent. in sterling.
