Vol. 118 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Performing Right Society's Fees.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that the body known as the Performing Rights Society proposes to increase its fees to hall committees for dances, etc., in 1950; and whether he will state (i) what sum this society draws annually from entertainments staged in the Republic; (ii) how much profits go to Irish interests, and (iii) how many Irish nationals are employed in their service in this country.

I have no function in connection with the Performing Right Society and I do not know whether it proposes to increase its fees to hall committees for dances, etc., in 1950 or not; neither have I any information on the other matters mentioned in the Deputy's question.

Can the Minister say if any other Department of State has any functions in connection with this society?

I cannot say. I have not.
