Vol. 118 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Bus Service.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether an application has been received by his Department from Córas Iompair Éireann for permission to run a bus service through Castlemaine, Annascaul, County Kerry, and whether such a proposal has been considered; and, if so, when approval is likely to be given.

An application was received in respect of the road between Annascaul and Tralee via Inch and Castlemaine and was refused on the grounds that the road between Annascaul and Whitegate is not suitable for bus traffic. The company have been informed, however, that I am prepared to approve of the road between Tralee and Whitegate via Castlemaine if they so desire.
