Vol. 118 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Union Walls.

asked the Minister for Health if he has given any further consideration to the proposal for the removal of the unsightly walls which surround the buildings formerly known as the Dublin Union, and if so, with what result.

In connection with the scheme for the rehabilitation and extension of St. Kevin's Hospital, I requested the board of assistance to give specially urgent consideration to the demolition of derelict buildings and walls. The board have agreed to this and have submitted an outline of their proposals for the hospital, including demolitions, and I hope to be able to convey my decision on this part of their programme very shortly.

I may add that I am in complete sympathy with any proposal to remove the unsightly walls which give this hospital so forbidding an appearance.
