asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of unemployment insurance finance for the 12 months ended 31st March, 1949, (a) receipts, distinguishing between (i) contributions from employers and workers, (ii) state funds, and (iii) other income; (b) payments, distinguishing between (i) those to workpeople, (ii) those to associations in lieu of benefit, (iii) other payments, (iv) contributions under the Unemployment Assistance Act; (c) surplus or deficit in the year, and (d) the amount of the fund at the end of the year.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of widows' and orphans' pensions finance for the 12 months ended 31st March, 1949, (a) receipts, distinguishing between (i) contributions, (ii) Exchequer, (iii) interest, etc., on investments, and (iv) other receipts; (b) payments, distinguishing between (i) widows' pensions (contributory and non-contributory to be shown separately), (ii) orphans' pensions (contributory and non-contributory to be shown separately), (iii) cash supplements, (iv) administration, and (v) other items; (c) excess of receipts over payments, and (d) the amount of the fund at the end of year.
