Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Stamp Production Machine.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state, with reference to the Chambon machine for the production of rolls of stamps for use in stamp-vending machines (a) its date of purchase; (b) the original cost; (c) the subsequent cost of repairs or alterations; (d) when this machine first successfully printed rolls of stamps, and (e) whether this machine is now working satisfactorily.

The answers to the various parts of the question are as follows:—

(a) 17th April, 1940;

(b) £2,114 14s.;

(c) Nil;

(d) March, 1945, and

(e) The machine has not been in use for some time owing to the pressure of other work on the operators but it is anticipated that, when employed again, it will produce continous rolls of stamps satisfactorily.
