Vol. 118 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wiring by Electricity Supply Board.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the Electricity Supply Board will not undertake the wiring of houses in rural electrification scheme areas, and that such wiring is carried out by private contractors; and, if so, whether he will consider requesting the Electricity Supply Board to wire premises in cases where the proprietor requires this service.

The matter to which the Deputy refers is one which rests entirely for consideration by the Electricity Supply Board in the course of day to day administration, and I do not consider that it would be desirable for me to interfere with the board in the exercise of their discretion.
