Vol. 119 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Duties.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware of the inconvenience caused to uniformed members of the Garda by the present tours of duty in the Dublin Metropolitan District, and whether he will make inquiries into the matter with a view to having the previous arrangement of tours restored.

The present arrangement of tours of duty has been in force since April, 1948. I am satisfied that it provides better policing than the previous arrangement and that it does not impose any undue hardship on the men.
