Vol. 119 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Special Grant for Extra Room.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state how many persons have applied for the special grant to enable them to have an extra room added to their houses in cases where a member of the household suffered from tuberculosis and how many of these applications have been granted.

Applications for grants for extra rooms in these cases are made to the appropriate local authorities in the first instance and are subsequently recouped in part from the Vote for my Department. I cannot, therefore, state the total number of applications received, but recoupment has been approved in respect of 147 cases and already made in 93 of these.
