Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition and Division of Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state why the Land Commission are not putting into operation the scheme for the subdivision of the Flannery estate at Corralea, Record No. S.3260, Quintin Dick estate, County Galway.

The Land Commission are not in possession of this estate and, consequently, cannot divide it.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what progress has been made towards the acquisition of the lands of Miss Christina Mylott and Mr. John H. Bleahan, at Ardour, Kilconley, County Galway.

Acquisition proceedings have been instituted in these two cases and are in the early stages.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Mr. Disken at Newtown (Lynott), Ref. No. A. and R. 14279/45, County Galway; and if so, what progress has been made.

Negotiations are in progress in regard to these lands but it is not possible to state if the lands will come into the possession of the Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission are aware that there is still acute congestion in the area of the Lewin estate, Kilshanvey, County Galway; and whether it is intended to acquire any of the large farms in that area; and, if so, whether he will state what stage the proceedings have reached.

The Land Commission have instituted proceedings for the acquisition of a considerable area for the relief of congestion in this district. The proceedings are in the early stages.
