Vol. 119 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dairy Disposal Board's Creameries.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he will consider having separate accounts published by each of the Dairy Disposal Board's seven groups of creameries in Kerry, and should he not consider it to be in the public interest to publish such accounts, whether he will give sufficient reasons for his decision, in order to allay the criticisms levelled at the board for its refusal to publish such accounts.

I am not prepared to adopt the suggestion that separate accounts for individual creamery groups of the Dairy Disposal Company should be published. The consolidated balance sheet of the company, which is presented annually to the Dáil and which comes under review by the Committee of Public Accounts, is in conformity with the general practice of business organisations operating a number of separate groups or branches.
