asked the Taoiseach if he will state, in respect of the year 1949, the value of imports from and exports to (a) the United States of America, (b) Canada, (c) other western hemisphere countries, (d) sterling area countries not participating in the European Recovery Programme, (e) other countries not participating in the European Recovery Programme, (f) sterling area countries participating in the European Recovery Programme, and (g) other countries participating in the European Recovery Programme.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state, in respect of the year 1949, the value of imports under the heads of (a) producers' capital goods ready for use, (b) consumption goods— food, drink and tobacco, (c) consumption goods—other, (d) materials for agriculture, (e) materials for industry, and (f) unclassified.

The figures requested are not yet available.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of the years 1938, 1939, 1947, 1948 and 1949 the total value of domestic exports of industrial products and the value of each of the principal products.

The information requested may be derived from the December issue of trade statistics in the years 1938, 1948 and 1949, and from the special supplement, published in 1945, giving inter alia, the figures for the year 1939. These publications are available in the Oireachtas Library.
