Vol. 119 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Amendment of Small Dwellings Acts.

Mr. A. Byrne

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state with reference to his replies to questions of the 24th November, 1949, and 21st February, 1950, whether he has completed his consideration (1) of the question of introducing proposals for legislation to amend the Small Dwellings Acts, and (2) of the position created by the ultra-conservative interpretation of the term "market value", and, if so, if he will state the result thereof, and, if not, whether he will also make inquiries into the method of making advances under the Small Dwellings Acts.

The matters referred to by the Deputy have been considered in connection with proposed new legislation, but I could not make a statement on the matter in advance of the introduction of the relevant Bill.
