Vol. 119 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Farm Offer.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that some time ago Mr. John H. Owen, Ballyhorgan, Lixnaw, County Kerry, offered his farm of 150 acres to the Land Commission in exchange for an alternative farm elsewhere, that a Land Commission inspector called later and informed Mr. Owen that unless he was willing to sell his farm the Commission could not give him an exchange, that a month afterwards Mr. Owen offered his land for a fair price to the Commission and since then has not heard from that body, and if he will state what the Commission intend to do in this case.

Mr. Owen applied for a holding in exchange for his farm in Rathea and later, in January last, he offered to sell this farm to the Land Commission. This offer is under consideration and Mr. Owen will be apprised of the Land Commission decision very soon.
