Vol. 120 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Bacon Pigs.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the unanimous decision of Dáil Éireann on the 15th February last to accept the motion calling for an increase in the price paid to the producer for bacon pigs sufficient to cover the cost of production on home-produced foods, he will state what steps he proposes to take to determine such costs.

I have already examined this matter, and, as a result, I am satisfied that there is at present prices a reasonable profit on pigs fed on home-produced feeding stuffs.
