Vol. 120 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Butter Exports to Germany.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, he will state the price per cwt. ex-Dublin at which butter being exported to Germany is being sold.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the price received for butter recently exported to Germany and the prospects of developing this market in the event of a surplus of butter being available in the future.

I propose, a Chinn Chomhairle, with your permission to take Questions Nos. 22 and 23 together.

The creamery butter recently exported to Germany was sold at a price equivalent to 350/- per cwt. free on board at Dublin. I am exploring the possibility of establishing a regular trade in butter with Germany, but the market there for butter tends to grow more competitive.
