Vol. 120 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Income-Tax.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange that civil servants, teachers and other public employees, whose income-tax is deducted at source, and who do not receive notice of assessment, will henceforth be supplied with statements giving details of the basis on which tax deductions are made from their pay.

Arrangements are already in operation whereby civil servants and other persons from whose official remuneration income-tax is deducted are supplied on request with a statement of the basis on which the tax is deducted. These arrangements are working satisfactorily and no extension is contemplated.
