Vol. 120 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salaries of Secondary Teachers.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Education if he will state when he will be able to announce increases in the present increments of salary for secondary teachers.

An application has been received from the Association of Secondary Teachers for an increase in the incremental salaries fixed in November, 1946. I am not at present in a position to say when the consideration of the matter may be completed.

Mr. Byrne

Will it be completed in time to include it in the coming Estimates?

I am not in the position to say anything more.

Mr. Byrne

The Minister is not turning it down? There is nothing included in the Estimates for it.
