Vol. 120 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Night Telephone Service.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will indicate when it is proposed to extend the night telephone service to the towns and villages in Tipperary South Riding.

It is assumed that the Deputy's question relates to the provision of telephone kiosks at which continuous service would be available. Telephone kiosks will be erected in towns and villages where the use which would be made of them would warrant the cost of their provision. For the present, however, owing to pressure of more urgent works they can be provided only where the need for them is greatest. The claims of each area are fully considered and any of the places referred to where the provision of a kiosk is warranted will be dealt with in due course.
