Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - House Building—County Kildare.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the number of houses built by public utility societies and private individuals in County Kildare under (a) the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1932, and (b) the Housing Act, 1948.

Grants were allocated in respect of 280 new houses under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1932. Full grants were paid on the completion of 279 of these houses. Grants have been allocated under the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1948, in respect of 145 new houses up to the 31st March, 1950. Full grants had been paid in 39 cases and instalments in an additional 46 cases.
