Vol. 120 No. 12

Order of Business.

Business will be taken in the following order: Nos. 3, 7, and 9. It is proposed to interrupt No. 7 from 6 to 7.30 p.m. to take No. 9. At 7.30 p.m., or earlier if No. 9 is completed, the debate on No. 7 will be resumed.

Will the Taoiseach indicate if and when the Committee Stage of the Agricultural Workers (Holidays) Bill will be taken?

I think it will be taken in the course of the next week or fortnight. In the ordinary course of events, when the financial business is disposed of, we will take the outstanding Bills in their proper order.

Is it not a fact that, on the figures given, 30,000 agricultural workers are given holidays all the year round?

You keep out of it.

I did not put them out of their jobs.

Can I take it as an assurance——

The Deputy can take it as an assurance that there will be no undue delay.

There has been a lot of undue delay.

There are a lot of other Bills.

What is the Deputy grumbling about? Has he not given 30,000 of them permanent holidays?

You had better keep your mouth shut.

The Transport Bill, 1949 (from the Seanad) will be set down for Tuesday next if the House agrees.

Is the Minister accepting the amendments?

I am recommending them.

Ordered: That the Bill be taken on Tuesday.
