Vol. 120 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Motor Cars Used by Ministers and Secretaries.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state separately in respect of each Minister of State and Parliamentary Secretary whether any motor car the property of the State has been allocated to him; and, if so, the number of miles travelled by the car or cars so allotted, the quantity and value of the petrol and oil used in them, the number of members of the Garda Síochána who are employed as drivers for the cars, the amount spent on the cars for tyres and repairs, washing and general maintenance, and the amounts, if any, refunded to the Exchequer by the Minister or Parliamentary Secretary concerned in respect of the user on private business of any car or cars allocated to him.

The information asked for is not readily available, but if the Deputy will repeat the question in a fortnight's time, and indicate in the meantime the period in respect of which he desires the information, I shall be in a position to give a reply.
