asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that a survey has been made locally of the Kenmare, Kilgarvan and intervening districts with a view to obtaining an electricity supply under the Electricity Supply Board, and if he will state whether an official survey has yet been made, whether the area mentioned comprises one unit and what is the present position with regard to this matter.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the result of a canvass of the Kilgarvan-Kenmare area made by a local committee has been communicated to them and the board are considering the making of a canvass by their own officers.
