Vol. 121 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Milk.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he is aware that keen disappointment is felt by the suppliers of milk to creameries controlled by the Dairy Disposals Board in South Kerry at the fact that they were not consulted in regard to the proposed alteration in the price of milk, particularly in view of the fact that a fifth of the country's creamery milk is handled by these creameries and that suppliers to co-operative societies were consulted in this matter; and, if so, whether in future discussions he will include the members of the committee recently set up by the suppliers of milk to Dairy Disposals Board creameries in South Kerry.

The answer to the first part of the question is "No". With regard to the second part, I shall be glad to give an opportunity to any properly constituted organisation representative of the milk suppliers to creameries owned by the Dairy Disposal Company to express their views on matters of concern to the dairying industry.
