Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition and Division of Land.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what action has been taken for the acquisition of (1) the estate known as Kilkenny West, Glasson, Athlone; (2) the Smith estate, Tubberclair, Glasson, Athlone; and (3) the lands of Clonkeen, English estate, Tang, Ballymahon; and if he will further state the acreage of each estate.

(1) Proceedings have been instituted in respect of 198 acres.

(2) The Land Commission have no record of a Smith estate in the townland of Tubberclair.

(3) Proceedings have been instituted in respect of 140 acres of this estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether representations were made to the Land Commission with a view to the acquisition for allotment amongst the uneconomic holders and landless men of the area of the McDuff Frederick Simpson estate at Booleigh, Athy, County Kildare; and, if so, whether the Land Commission propose to take any action in the matter.

The representations which were made to the Land Commission for the acquisition of these lands have been noted.
