Vol. 121 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Entertainment Duty on Dances.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the estimated administration costs in the collection of entertainment duty on dances for the current financial year.

It is not possible to state definitely the cost of collection of entertainments duty on dances, as the cost of the Revenue Commissioners' Office is not apportioned amongst the various duties collected, but it is estimated to be about 2 per cent. of the amount of entertainments duty received.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amounts of the receipts from entertainment duty on dances during the year 1949-50, and the estimated receipts for the current financial year.

The receipts from entertainments duty on dances for the financial year 1949-50 were approximately £108,000 and the estimated receipts for the current financial year are £130,000.
