Vol. 121 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lighting of Tipperary Road.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will make representations to the Electricity Supply Board to have electric lighting extended to Tipperary Road, Cahir, in view of the number of road accidents in this area due to the present inadequate lighting system.

The provision of lighting on public roads is primarily a matter for the local authority concerned. I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the provision of lighting at Tipperary Road, Cahir, has been the subject of correspondence between the Tipperary, South Riding, County Council and the board and that the board has within the last few days advised the county council of its decision in the matter.
