Vol. 121 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Factories.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state in respect of the 60 factories which he states were opened during the year, how many were opened in (a) Cork City and (b) Cork County; and further, if he will state how many men have been given employment in such factories in each area.

Of the 60 factories referred to in my statement, two were opened in Cork City and two in Cork County. In view of the small number of firms covered, it is undesirable to give employment figures for the separate areas, but the total new employment given by these four concerns to date is 55 males and 21 females.
