Vol. 122 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Interest on Housing Loans.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what rate of interest is charged on loans issued for the purposes of the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts, and how it compares with the rate for loans under the Small Dwellings (Acquisition) Acts.

The current rate of interest on loans issued from the Local Loans Fund for the purposes of the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts is 3¼ per cent. The same rate applies to advances from the fund to local authorities for the making of loans under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts. Loans under those Acts are not made direct from the fund to individuals.
