Vol. 122 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Anti-Partitionist Representatives.

asked the Taoiseach if any recent request has been received by him from anti-Partitionist elected representatives in the Six Counties to be admitted to one or other of the Houses of the Oireachtas; and, if so, whether he will give particulars.

I have received a letter dated the 16th May, 1950, from the Irish Anti-Partition League, Belfast, asking if I would consent to arrange a meeting between the leaders of the Dáil and Seanad and a deputation appointed at the last annual convention of the league, in connection with a decision of the convention to request the Government to admit the elected representatives of the Six Counties to the Dáil and Seanad. A reply will be sent in the course of the next few days.

Is the Taoiseach at liberty to indicate at this stage what the nature of the reply will be?

I would not feel at liberty to tell the Deputy before telling the people who sent me the letter.
