Vol. 122 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fees Paid by Radio Eireann.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that the fees plus travelling expenses paid by Radio Éireann for a provincial band from Galway amount to £6, and whether in view of the importance of encouraging our Gaelic music, he will arrange to have the fee increased to a reasonable sum.

The fees Radio Éireann would pay at present for a broadcast from Dublin by a provincial céilí band are considerably higher than the amount mentioned in the question. In fixing the fees, the expenses incurred by bands in travelling are taken into account.
