Vol. 123 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Comparison of Pig Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state how the prices paid to producers for bacon pigs in this country compare with the prices paid to procedures in Great Britain.

The prices paid to producers for bacon pigs in this country are at present over 190/-, and are in some cases over 195/- per cwt. dead-weight for top-grade pigs. I have no function in regard to the prices paid for pigs to producers in Great Britain.

Is the Minister aware that 254/- is paid to producers for bacon pigs in Great Britain?

I can only repeat that I have no function in regard to the prices paid to producers in Great Britain.
